Energy Performance Certificate
Energy Performance Certificate (EPC)
Energy Performance Certificates (EPC’s) are needed whenever a property is:
– Built
– Sold
– Rented
You must have an EPC to show potential buyers/ tenants before you market your property.
An EPC contains:
Information about a property’s energy use and typical energy costs.
Recommendations about how to reduce energy use and save money.
An EPC gives you an energy efficiency rating from A (most efficient) to G (least efficient) and
is valid for 10 years.

Renting Out A Property??
From 2025, all newly rented properties will be required to have an EPC rating of C or above.
The recent Government change in rules would require that all new tenancies must have an
EPC (Energy Performance Certificate) rating of B, C or A, starting from 2025.
